Stick welding is one of the most common and ancient processes of joining steel and iron. This process involves a consumable electrode covered with flux. Here, either alternating or direct current will provide the source of power. The electrode and the electric arc will enable the joining of the two metals. During the welding process, the flux from the electrode fragments into vapours that will act as the shielding gas. The simplicity of the process and the flexibility of the equipment used make this process of welding one of the most popular. This process is dominant in repairing broken pieces, construction of steel structures and industrial fabrication of aluminium and nickel parts.
This process of welding normally referred as Gas metal arc welding. The wire electrode (consumable) and the electric arc form the basis under which this process is done. The two will generate the amount of heat necessary to melt the two metals, and after cooling, they will join permanently. In addition to the wire electrode, the equipment also produces a shielding gas from the nozzles of the welding gun. The shielding gas protects any form of air contamination from reaching the region under welding. One of the most notable points about this welding process is that it can be either automatic or semi-automatic. Additionally, unlike stick welding, MIG welding requires an unvarying supply source of either alternating or direct current. This is also one if not the fastest type of manual welding today.

Each person chooses a profession depending on personal interests.
