At the same time the gloves needs to be able to withstand the high heat that comes from the arc at higher ampere from the torch itself.
The most used leathers in TIG are as follow:
- Kidskin – A popular if not the most popular leather for its great dexterity and decent durability.
- Goatskin – Offers booth good dexterity and durability.
- Deerskin – The highest dexterity of them all, but for this the durability suffers.
- Pigskin – High dexterity and durability.
Different brands use different leather and what works for you maybe won’t work for the person next to you.
There is a lot of reason why a welder decides on a certain glove. The most important qualities is the feel and touch with the gloves.
